As a child, I went with a woman people call the Witch from a small Unionist mauntery in the middle of the Disappointments to Kiamo Ko, once the stronghold of an Arjiki prince. There I met a girl named Nor.

Everything else is a bit hazy, not quite real even though it was painfully real to me sometimes. As real as a thick black cape. As real as a broom that can take to the sky. As bright as butter-gold hair.

I'm not sure of anything except, perhaps, that life isn't made to be fair. It certainly hasn't been fair to me. Other than that?

I don't know.

And why should I tell you anyway?

Liir (who takes the last name of Ko as needed, Thropp while in the midst of acts of a more-questionable-than-usual nature) is a tall, skinny man of middle age. His eyes are as green as...well, as green as eyes have any right to be and his hair is dark, charcoal, often held back by wire or rope. His features are sharp, much like his moods, and he's handsome, given for a certain value of 'handsome'; striking, definitely. He likes to fade into the background and listen, watch.

Anything else, you'll have to figure out yourself.
